Configuring Netscape 6 for E-Mail
Below are the steps for configuring Netscape 6 as an e-mail client. If you have problems, please contact our Help Desk.
From the "Tasks" menu select "Mail". This should trigger the Account Wizard as shown in the steps below.
When asked about creating a Netscape Instant Messenger "screen name" click the "Cancel" button.
Select "ISP or email provider" button and click "Next".
Enter your name in the "Your Name" box. Enter your e-mail address in the "Email Address" box.
Select the "IMAP" button. Enter your e-mail server name in the "Server Name" box.
Enter your user name in the "User Name" box. Your user name is the part to the left of the "@" sign in your e-mail address. For example, the user name for "jersmith@aesasp.com" is "jersmith".
Enter an account name in the "Account Name" box. Here we've simply used the e-mail address.
Check what you've entered and click "Finish".
From the "Edit" menu, select "Mail/News Account Settings...".
In the list on the left, click on "Server Settings"
click the "OK" button.
