Configuring Netscape 4.7x for E-Mail
Below are the steps for configuring Netscape 4.7x as an e-mail client. If you have problems, please contact our Help Desk
This Account Wizard should start automatically the first time Netscape Communicator is launched. It can also be launched by creating a new user profile. To do this, run User Profile Manager (found in the Utilities folder in the Netscape Communicator folder) and click the "New..." button, then follow the directions below:
In the "Profile Name" box, enter your name and click the "Next >" button.>
Enter your full name in the "Full Name" box. Enter your entire e-mail address in the "Email Address" box. Click the "Next >" button.
In the "Mail server user name", enter your username. For instance, if your e-mail address is "jersmith@aesasp.com", your username is "jersmith" (the text to the left of the @ sign).
In the "Incoming Mail Server" box, enter your server name. In the example above, we have "aesasp.com".
Lastly, click the button marked "IMAP" and then click "Next >".
In the "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server" box, enter your e-mail server again. Then click the "Next >" button.
